Not only is Kota a dedicated sportsman, he also enjoys working and achieving difficult goals.
Kota grew up in a family that loved climbing and skiing. He also enjoys baseball and played on a variety of teams from elementary school through college. He has leaned many lessons such as teamwork, cooperation, and importance of appreciating others from the 16 years he spent playing baseball. When he was senior in college, his team won Japan National Collegiate Junko Baseball Championship. After he graduated, he got back into climbing and started trail running at the end of 2013 He is also interested in fast packing as well as telemark during the winter and enjoys being on the mountain all year round.
Not only is Kota a dedicated sportsman, he also enjoys working and achieving difficult goals. He is a train driver by profession and takes his physical condition, time management, and diet very seriously. He recognizes that driving trains means that he is responsible for his passenger’s lives and safety. Using his knowledge and expertise, he takes part in varieties of races, focusing primarily on the long distance category on both road and trail, and is good at persistent running often increasing his pace in the second half.
