Reporting into the Digital Director the D2C Merchandising Manager will be responsible for all D2C website merchandising and will help shape and deliver the clearance and outlet strategy for Montane. Working alongside the Ecommerce Manager and Outlet Manager to present product in the best possible space whilst identifying commercial opportunities to drive sell through.

This role is ideally suited to a merchandiser who relies heavily on data, understands range planning, size curves and gets colour but also enjoys the retail aspect of merchandising and doesn't mind operating with a hands on approach.


We’re looking for a Merchandiser or equivalent with four to five years’ merchandising experience preferably in an apparel or fashion retail environment who is looking to progress or broaden their role. This role will be a bricks and clicks role so a mix of ecommerce and retail experience is preferred but not essential. The role will be weighted towards the online space and provides the opportunity for your own development in an ecommerce and retail setting with support from the Digital Director.

You will be data driven and help maximise sales and identify commercial trading opportunities on and help develop our retail outlet strategy in store and online. You will be joining a small ambitious team where you will be given the autonomy to be able to make real impact. 



  • Responsible for maintenance of product range, reviewing, analysing and managing the sales and stock levels weekly, monthly and long term working closely with our supply and product team.
  • Deliver seasonal product forecasting and range planning, inputting  into product development and the shaping of the D2C offer.
  • Ensuring bestsellers are consistently fulfilled and slow sellers are merchandised accordingly for visibility and sell through.
  • Manage visual merchandising of category pages to optimise sales and performance while consistently thinking of the user journey and any improvements that can be made.
  • Ensure the D2C buying and merchandising strategy is reflected online.
  • Work closely with the Ecommerce Manager to drive sales, conversion and efficiency of the .com business.
  • Maintain a category level range plan that accurately reflects the planned buy levels and is in line with agreed budgets & forecasts.
  • Work closely with the Outlet Manager to help drive sales, conversion and efficiency of the outlet business online and instore.
  • Understanding profitability within the category areas and across all channels.
  • By drawing on experience consistently identify new and better ways of doing things to add value, streamline processes and create new opportunities through merchandising.
  • Competent with Excel for data manipulation and using Google Sheets as a means to provide updates.
  • Analyse and review product performance data in order to report daily, weekly and monthly sales highlights and presenting opportunities and challenges with likely actions. Create new reports or updating existing reports for where you see there is a business need.
  • Manage digital asset production timeline working closely with marketing teams to deliver on time and to brief while supporting all activities with planning and product suggestions.
