Great piece of kit.
I have the ‘flag red’ (bright red) option - a beautiful colour. Purchased 1 yr ago to make myself visible to motorists in the daytimes out cycling/running. For this it’s great. I wouldn’t wear it for visibility at night, the reflective details are too subtle & likely to wear off. (I prefer a Proviz Reflect 360 gilet). The fabric is breathable up to a point, (tiny pin point holes which you can see if you hold it up to the light), tho’ if it’s not chilly & windy out I tend to get sweaty inside - one can pull the central zip down halfway which helps to vent. It’s super-lightweight & packable, stash it in a bum-bag out running, grab it for exposed windy trail sections, or if I’m getting cold, or for sections of connecting road for visibility to motorists, (I’m primarily a trails runner). It’s great against wind, the primary function. It’s fine for mist, light drizzle, light showers, but for any prolonged heavy rain you’re going to get drenched. Chest pocket is potentially useful (for a key, energy bar, say), but I’ve never used it, (bum-bag or shorts sacrum pocket a better location). I like the cut, svelte, tho’ I’m pushing the upper limits of a size small - 180cm, 67kg, willowy frame - would opt for a medium if I wanted more layers underneath. Expensive for what it is but well finished, & colour has stayed true after repeated washes. In short a super packable, versatile, well-made, stylish bit of kit with many applications, particularly the bright colourways.

Montane Men's Featherlite Windproof Gilet
A replacement windproof gilet for running, cycling etc and help keeping core warm, my previous Montane one having lasted 15+ years. Addition of a pocket is great for my phone and the nylon is a bit more textured and pleasant to touch. Some reflective detailing and the red is fairly bright, but generally an inner layer so visibility not as key ( but would love a fluoro hi viz one if Montane did them again!) . Very handy, tiny layer with surprising effect on core temperature.
