POSITION:  Digital Marketing Student Placement / Internship

LOCATION:  Montane HQ, Northumberland

HOURS:  Full time // Salaried Placement 

START DATE: January 2021

We are represented in many territories around the world and have a head office in Northumberland and a showroom in the Lake District.


The Digital Marketing Student will sit within the direct to consumer team based in our Northumberland Head Office. The placement will run from January  - December 2021 for 9 – 12 months which will allow the student to become fully immersed within the ecommerce and digital marketing team. Taking on projects, managing day to day tasks and supporting events to support brand visibility, community growth and onsite conversion.


  • Applicants must be studying an Undergraduate Sandwich Degree Course and able to undertake 9 - 12 months placement as part of your course.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential both written and verbal.
  • You should have an eye for detail and an interest in online retail or digital marketing. 
  • Proficient with word, excel and power point and open to learn new systems and platforms.
  • A team player but able to work individually and manage own work load based on business priorities.
  • Applicants should have a keen interest in the outdoors.
  • Retail experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Open to working in different areas of the business depending on business needs.


  • Deliver projects assigned by the Digital Director which include planning, execution, refinements and reporting.
  • Support the Ecommerce Manager with seasonal product launches.
  • Support campaign delivery through merchandising.
  • Support data building activities including competitions and external events.
  • Support seasonal photo shoots in planning and delivery.
  • Support content creation across blog content, campaign landing pages and enhanced product descriptions.
  • Support the direct to consumer team in the delivery of day to day tasks.

This is a two stage interview process, successful applicants will be invited to attend a 3hr workshop at the Northumberland HQ. Each applicant will spend time with the team to be assessed for the role subject to COVID guidelines.
